“SARABURI SANDBOX LOW CARBON CITY”: A New Member of Transitioning Industrial Clusters Initiative, World Economic Forum

  September 22-29, 2024: Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) reveals another step forward of “SARABURI SANDBOX LOW CARBON CITY” to the World Economic Forum’s global project, “Transitioning Industrial Clusters Initiative”, marking the first industrial cluster in Thailand, the 3rd in ASEAN, and the 21st worldwide to join this initiative with  aims to accelerate the decarbonization of hard-to-abate industrial sectors through regional cooperation in to build cross-industry and cross-cluster partnerships to better implement low-carbon technologies, develop balanced markets, and unlock public and private funding opportunities for their emerging decarbonization initiatives. This milestone underscores the bold collaborative action and TCMA’s leadership in accelerating the energy transition contribute to the achievement of low carbon city.

“Transitioning Industrial Clusters” of World Economic Forum aims to mobilize the full economic, employment and energy potential of industrial clusters. Through a structured approach to financing, policy, technology and partnerships, combined with best practices from committed clusters, the Initiative is working to improve cooperation and common vision around the energy transition, jobs and growth.
