PPP-Saraburi Sandbox: A Low Carbon City on waste management

Dr. Chana Poomee, Chairman of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) joined with Saraburi Province-led by Saraburi governor Khun Bancha Chaowarin and 18 agencies among public sector, local administrative organization and network partners signed a memorandum of understanding to drive forward “PPP-Saraburi Sandbox: A Low Carbon City,” turning waste to value through ten pilot projects, seizing the triple effect from waste segregation and value creation: community income generation, waste reduction, global warming alleviation. This collaboration effort represents a key component of the ‘PPP-Saraburi Sandbox’.

Third Progress Study to Decarbonize Cement Manufacturing

The team of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA)- led by Khun Surachai Vangrattanachai, Chair of Working Group TCMA on Innovation and Technology and the team of Office of National Higher Education Science Research and Innovation Policy- led by Dr. Saravanee Singtong, Director of Sustainable Policy Division provided technical advice to the team of Nomura Research Institute Thailand-led by Khun Kraiwin Lertsakornsiri, Senior Consultant of Consulting Department in the 3rd progress report of carbon dioxide (CO2) to methanol with aims at decarbonization in cement manufacturing.

Fourth Meeting in 2024 of Working Group TCMA on Innovation and Technology

Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) members’ representative attended 4/2024 meeting of Working Group TCMA on Innovation and Technology, chaired by Khun Surachai Vangrattanachai. The meeting discussed on work progress and related matters to reach goal as set ‘leveraging innovation for energy transition of cement industry’, including the grant green fund from Canada government through UNIDO to help decarbonizing of cement and concrete sectors in Thailand.
