Dr. Chana Poomee, Chairman of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) along with TCMA Executive Board participated in Thailand Green and Smart Mining Forum, declaring a proactive strategy to enhance cement quarry with cutting-edge technology and innovation towards Net Zero 2050 for sustainable economic and community growth, presided over by H.E. Miss Pimphattra Wichaikul, Minister of Industry. TCMA is ready to collaborate with all sectors to elevate Thailand’s mining industry to smart and green mining, paving the way for a green economy and a
low-carbon society while striking a balance in the domains of economy, society, environment and public health according to the intendment of the Minerals Act
B.E. 2560 (2017).

Third Progress Study to Decarbonize Cement Manufacturing

The team of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA)- led by Khun Surachai Vangrattanachai, Chair of Working Group TCMA on Innovation and Technology and the team of Office of National Higher Education Science Research and Innovation Policy- led by Dr. Saravanee Singtong, Director of Sustainable Policy Division provided technical advice to the team of Nomura Research Institute Thailand-led by Khun Kraiwin Lertsakornsiri, Senior Consultant of Consulting Department in the 3rd progress report of carbon dioxide (CO2) to methanol with aims at decarbonization in cement manufacturing.

Fourth Meeting in 2024 of Working Group TCMA on Innovation and Technology

Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) members’ representative attended 4/2024 meeting of Working Group TCMA on Innovation and Technology, chaired by Khun Surachai Vangrattanachai. The meeting discussed on work progress and related matters to reach goal as set ‘leveraging innovation for energy transition of cement industry’, including the grant green fund from Canada government through UNIDO to help decarbonizing of cement and concrete sectors in Thailand.
