During Climate Week New York City on September 22-29, 2024 with theme “It’s Time”, Dr. Chana Poomee, Chairman of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) shared net zero pathway of Thai cement industry-Thailand 2050 Net Zero Cement and Concrete Roadmap and one year progress of pilot initiative SARABURI SANDBOX LOW CARBON CITY during the high level Ministerial/CEO Roundtable Summit of the Future on ‘Partnership in Focus: Advancing Decarbonization of Heavy Emitting Industries’, joint organized by United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC).

TCMA-UNIDO-GCCA Collaboration to Decarbonize Cement and Concrete Sectors in Thailand

The joint discussion among Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA)-led by Dr. Chana Poomee, TCMA Chairman, UNIDO Headquarter -led by Ms. Rasha Abdrabu, UNIDO's Project Coordinator, and Global Cement and Concrete Association-led by Mr. Thomas Guillot, GCCA Chief Executive has been organized to find tune the first year of project action under Canada grant green fund to accelerate decarbonizing Thai cement and concrete sectors in alignment with Thailand 2050 Net Zero Cement and Concrete Roadmap and Thailand's Nationally Determined Contribution Roadmap on Mitigation.
