‘Concrete in Life’ Exhibition in GCCA 2024

June 4-5, 2024: Dr. Chana Poomee, Chairman of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) and Mr. Paul Adeleke, Strategy, Communications & Policy Director at Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA) introduced ‘Concrete in Life’, an annual photography competition initiated by GCCA for five years in a row. 

This year’s exhibition is featured at the “GCCA CEO Gathering and Leader Conference 2024” taking place for the first time in Bangkok, Thailand, showcasing the results of this year’s contest and a curated collection captured by photographers worldwide. The exhibition ‘Concrete in Life’, highlighting the dynamic relationship between humans and the concrete environment through diverse perspectives. The photos were showcased by categories, including Urban Concrete, Concrete Infrastructure, Concrete in Daily Life, and Beauty and Design. These photos symbolize the commitment of the cement and concrete industry to advancing the GCCA Concrete Future Roadmap towards sustainability and achieving Net Zero by 2050.

TCMA Board of Directors Meeting

Dr. Chana Poomee, Chairman of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) welcomed Board of Directors and members to 3/2024 TCMA Board of Directors Meeting. Work progress of each working group in line with the TCMA’s policy focus has been reported, including in-house matters of cement industry brought into discussion. TCMA is cement manufacturer-led, Thai leading cement manufacturers coalition advocating for cement industry being basic infrastructure of the country development, becoming environmentally friendly industry, committing to social responsibilities engagement and leading towards sustainable development.

Khun Monwikan Kajohnboon, Secretary of Working Group TCMA-Environment and Climate Action, Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) led the team presented cement industry point of views in focus group on Thailand Taxonomy-construction and manufacturing sector to review technical screening criteria, organized by Working Committee on Thailand Taxonomy in collaborating with Department of Climate Change and Environment, Bank of Thailand, Stock Exchange of Thailand, and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) members’ representative attended 3/ 2024 virtual meeting of Working Group TCMA on Circular Economy, chaired by Khun Teerapol Tirawasin.
