May 2, 2018: Khun Siva Mahasandana, Chairman of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) and executive of all cement manufacturers had a serious discussion with Dr. Somchai Harnhiran, Deputy Minister-Ministry of Industry (M-Industry) and executives of Department of Primary Industries and Mines (DPIM) due to the very delay in issuance of mining concession, according to the recent Mineral Act B.E. 2560 announcement. TCMA’s Chair requested M-Industry immediate pursue bold actions to resolve issues occurred from the changing in mining legislation which significantly affect cement operations. Industry Deputy Minister assured that, by working closely with Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE) and Office of the National Economics and Social Development Board (NESDB), draft of Thailand Mineral Management Master Plan will further proceed for cabinet approval in May 2018. All others concerned in legal and technical aspects are now taking into account for immediate discussion with relevant government authorities concerned to carefully resolve in appropriate ways. |
